Salve et gratissum: Hello, and welcome!

Welcome to Quid Valorem. Quid Valorem is Latin for “What (is the) Value?” I am its founder: Dr. Victor Jarosiewicz, ASA, CFA, CAIA.

A little about Quid Valorem:

Quid Valorem offers professional services related to the research, analysis and valuation of investment interests, based on more than twenty years of experience in finance (specializing in valuation and corporate finance).

Quid Valorem’s experience includes more than a thousand valuation reports for hundreds of valuation and M&A clients – from the Estate of Ken Lay (former chair of Enron) and other tax-related valuations to fairness opinions for public company transactions, Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs), as well as analyses of complex securities and intangible assets. Turn to Quid Valorem to address your valuation needs.

A little about me:

PhD in finance and strategic management. Credentialed as a CFA and CAIA charterholder and Accredited Senior Appraiser (in Business Valuations). Always involved in advancing our profession – from grading credentialing exams or developing new courses to local and national professional society leadership. Currently on The Appraisal Foundation’s Business Valuation Resource Panel.

Post-doctoral finance experience: volunteer reviewer of peer-reviewed research articles and editor of a peer-reviewed journal. Research published in highly regarded journals. Presentations to C-suite/Board-level and at professional meetings and conferences.

More than twenty years of post-MBA finance experience, with formative years at a sell-side investment banking firm–an NASD (now FINRA) registered broker-dealer. Most recently, drawn to the mission to help protect investors, a PhD financial economist at a regulatory agency created by Congress overseeing the work of public audit firms.

Taught hundreds of college students various aspects of finance, from advanced financial statement analysis to investments and financial institutions. Most importantly, tried to prepare them to work in the real world, where practical problem-solving skills are prized, but ethics and integrity are far more valuable. As Warren Buffett has said, “hire folks that are smart and motivated, but above all, have integrity.”

Now, I have created Quid Valorem to provide valuations with professional integrity and with superior analytical and writing skills. I am driven by a desire to help investors and entrepreneurs tackle vexing finance problems, and to help develop the next generation of finance professionals. Turn to Quid Valorem to address your valuation needs.
