More than twenty years of post-MBA finance experience, with formative years at a sell-side investment banking firm–an NASD (now FINRA) registered broker-dealer. Presentations to C-suite/Board-level and at professional meetings and conferences.
PhD in finance and strategic management. Credentialed as a CFA and CAIA charterholder and Accredited Senior Appraiser (in Business Valuations). Always involved in advancing our profession – from grading credentialing exams or developing new courses to local and national professional society leadership. Post-doctoral finance experience: volunteer reviewer of peer-reviewed research articles and editor of a peer-reviewed journal. Research published in highly regarded journals. Most recently, drawn to the mission to help protect investors, a PhD financial economist at a regulatory agency created by Congress overseeing the work of public audit firms.
Taught hundreds of college students various aspects of finance, from advanced financial statement analysis to investments and financial institutions. Most importantly, tried to prepare them to work in the real world, where practical problem-solving skills are prized, but ethics and integrity are far more valuable. As Warren Buffett has said, “hire folks that are smart and motivated, but above all, have integrity.”
